Sewing for a Gentle Cause at the Whittle Ward Palliative Care
At Wild Stitch Studio, we believe creativity has the power to bring a little light to the heavy moments. That’s why we support the Whittle Ward in Hobart – a palliative care space that deserves all the warmth and kindness we can stitch into it.
Earlier this year, our amazing community helped us sew a beautiful textile garden for Palliative Care Week 2025 (yes, it was as lovely as it sounds). And now, we’re dreaming up something special for Christmas – a little handmade magic to brighten the ward during the holidays.
We’re calling out to our crafty community to help us create:
🎄 Christmas stockings
🧶 Crocheted toys
🌟 Happy decorations
🧵 Bunting, pillows, quilts – you name it, if it's jolly and gentle, we’d love it.
Here’s how it works:
Make something from the comfort of your home – no pressure, just whatever your hands feel like creating. Then, when it’s ready, drop it into our little studio in North Hobart. We’ll bundle everything up and deliver it all in one big, love-filled parcel to the Whittle Ward.
We’ve found it’s much more meaningful this way – a thoughtful, collective offering rather than lots of little bits trickling in.
Donations close 1st December 2025, so you’ve got time to stitch up something special.
