A Pouch, A Joey, A Whole Lot of Heart
We’re beyond chuffed to announce our new partnership with Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, and we’d love you to be part of something kind and important.
As bushfire season rolls in, so many rescued animals—especially the teeny, wide-eyed ones—need warmth, comfort and care. That’s where your hands (and sewing machines) come in.
We’re calling on our Wild Stitch community to help us create wildlife pouches for joeys in care. You can stitch from home, or join us in one of our classes—whatever suits your sewing style.
But here’s the thing: these pouches need to follow one specific pattern and meet very particular fabric requirements, so they’re safe and snug for our furry friends. Think:
🧵 Flannelette on the outside
🧵 Cotton on the inside
🧵 A sewn-on tag with space for both your name and the name of a sponsor

How it works
🐨 Sew a pouch at home or in class
📍 Drop it off at Wild Stitch Studio (313A Elizabeth Street, North Hobart)
💌 Each pouch will be delivered to Bonorong, where it can be sponsored for $20
🌿 Sponsored pouches go straight to a joey in care—and yours will carry your name + the sponsor’s on the tag
Every sponsored pouch helps fund wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and care at Bonorong. So your humble handmade pouch becomes part of something much bigger.
