Here are the details for our Summer School Holiday program at Wild Stitch Studio. We can't wait to welcome your child to our inclusive, supportive, and kind classroom.  Kids 8 and up welcome.

Finishing Projects: While we take every effort to anticipate the amount of lessons needed per project, every person is different, and therefore, we only provide estimates for each project. Please check with your child what project they are doing so you are aware if it is more than 1 lesson. 

• Who: Children aged 8-16
• What: Kids Sewing Class - ideal for beginners and experienced crafters
• Cost: $60 per lesson (Please note: class costs DO NOT include fabric or kits, prices for these vary and are listed below)
• Enrolment: Flexible - sign up for as many classes as you'd like. We recommend at least two classes to complete a project.
• Projects: All projects are available every day of the program. Beginners start with the Nine-patch Cushion Cover before moving on to other projects
• Tutors: Our exceptionally skilled and approachable tutors specialise in tailoring their teaching to meet each child's unique level, fostering both creativity and skill. They prioritise understanding individual learning styles and needs, ensuring a personalised educational experience that empowers young learners to thrive.
• Additional Info: Sewing supplies and irons provided during class. Sewing machine hire included in class cost. Children will choose from curated kits; fabric and supplies must be purchased from us.

• Sewing Machines: Elevate your child's sewing experience by using a quality sewing machine equipped with speed control, needle-down capability, and full stitch length and width adjustment. All machines in our classroom are ideal for learning. If your home sewing machine lacks these features, consider using one of ours. Unsure if your machine is suitable? Reach out to us for guidance. 

  Sewing machines without these features are usually not strong enough to sew thicker projects like bags and quilts, tend to jam and come unthreaded constantly through the lesson, and slow your child's progress.

Nine-patch Cushion Cover (for beginners) by Briony Alderslade

This is the first project that students will sew.  Crafted with love and creativity, this project allows your child to to unleash their imagination as they piece together colourful fabric squares to create a one-of-a-kind cushion cover.

Enrolment & Accessibility:

Enrolment: All classes must be paid for upon enrolment. Kits can be paid for on the day.

Accessibility: While we strive for an accessible sewing environment, our current location has a classroom situated up a flight of stairs. Regrettably, the small bathroom is downstairs and not wheelchair accessible. For inquiries regarding classroom accessibility, please contact us.

Mobile Classroom: We operate a mobile classroom, making stops at venues with wheelchair accessibility. Keep an eye out for these classes if our North Hobart store is inaccessible for you.

 

NO SHOW POLICY

All Wild Stitch Studio Classes are limited to a certain number of class participants.  You do need to give us notice if you wish to cancel your class.

If you are unable to attend the class that you have booked, you must give us

1 WEEKS’ NOTICE.

Failure to do this means that your fee has been forfeited.

Last minute cancellations will also be considered as No Shows
